The
facilities for Golf are of very high standard and quality. There
are excellent courses at Port el Kantaoui near Sousse,
Monastir, Tabarka, Carthage at Tunis, Tozeur,
Djerba and Hammamet. Leading players of
international repute are now participating in the open
tournaments held here. The golf courses are designed by
eminent golf course architects and the turfs have been
imported from California. Each of the 18 holes has different
terrain and the courses are dotted with palm, olive and
pomegranate trees. These panoramic courses are all near the
sea and have the characteristics that suit all kinds of
players. There are luxurious clubhouses, equipment to rent
and training/practice grounds with putting green. The
‘Country Club’ golf course at La Sourka, Tunis has
recently undergone extension and re-landscaping and now has
a fresh and new ambience. Many more courses of international
standards are planned at major resorts.
